The old post tensioned concrete structure showed signs of failure and a new system was required to be installed to reinforce and support the existing slab. New strands were installed perpendicular to the existing strands by creating a pocket with a drape under the slab in order to house the new cable stands. The stands were placed and then encased in concrete. Once the concrete had reached the required strength the tendons were stressed as per specifications. Once repairs were completed the areas were waterproofed with a thin traffic coating and walls and ceiling were painted to match existing layout.
